A sheepish Christmas ornament

One of the traditions we had when I was a child was that my brother and I got to choose a new ornament for the tree every year. (Apparently I went through a long "angel" phase as I have several one-winged and headless cherubim hanging from tree limbs.)

I persist in this tradition, usually buying something on a whim, occasionally a half-priced trinket from China but more often-than-not something handmade like this year's treasure (above.)

This needlefelted sheep was purchased from an artisan (identity unknown) at the Junior League Holiday Mart. I went absolutely mad for his mohair coat, species integrity notwithstanding. He'll join the eclectic community populating Oh Tannanbaum when we put it up tonight.
