Knitting: Hubby Hat Request

Yesterday as Mitch suited up for his frigid commute, I laughed at his get up, which included the scarf pictured above and a rather loud chullo with coyote motifs, braids and pompoms.

"I could really use a simple grey hat," he said, in response to my derision.

Magic words to a knitter between projects.

After confirming the selection with him, I chose Windschief (below) by Stephen West. I liked that the canted, twisted rib would echo the stripes in the Noro Scarf without being all matchy-matchy. And I had a some Berroco Ultra Alpaca in charcoal grey stashed. He'll cut a handsome swath across Commons Park in these fancy knits.
