More on stuff

Driving me to the mall this week was a need for new bedding. This spate of cold weather and Mitch's wrong-headed belief that he's fighting for quilt scraps (I'm just a tiny lady; it's the 17-year-old cat who's the real cover hog) sent me on a mission for a practical, reasonably priced comforter.

Though we keep the bedroom at a chill 60 degrees, down is too warm for four mammals--three of them quite furry--in a queen-sized bed. Many of the other choices, $300 and $400 duvets, fat as pigs in a feedlot, don't fit our married-with-cats lifestyle. Can you imagine what this would do to a silk dupioni coverlet?

In the meantime, blanket wars continue. There's no doubt who's winning.
