Chocolate Stout Cake, Gourmet March 2005

This is one of our favorite recipes, a malty chocolate cake and not too sweet (I use about half the sugar called for). Given what cupcakes cost at the trendy little shops, I adapted the above for a Valentine’s Day treat. Served it with a molasses-spiked whipped cream. Mitch ate two.
